The Pros and Cons of Cannabis-Infused Drinks
The pros and cons of cannabis-infused drinks are many. While some people consume it as a beverage to get high or smoke, it can also be consumed in its oil form for ingestion. It is believed that cannabis contains significant amounts of antioxidants which can improve one’s health.
Furthermore, it has been discovered that it may also help treat depression. And because it is considered to be effective in treating some symptoms of schizophrenia and autism, it has now become a popular treatment for these mental disorders.
Two major types of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are present in marijuana. They are also found in cannabis. One type is considered to be more potent than the other.
The main component of delta 8 is believed to be responsible for the “high” effect felt by people who consume it. The brain releases two chemicals when this substance enters the body: THC and CBD. However, when THC and CBD are combined in a solution, it produces delta 9 THC. It is this type of THC that produces the psychotropic or mind-altering effects that most users feel when they consume it. It is also believed to prevent the body from being depersonalized or “dreamed” when taking it.
In comparison to the psychoactive effects of delta-9 THC, another lesser-known substance, called CBD, is believed to be the less harmful of the two. It too acts like THC in the body by binding to the THC molecules and preventing them from doing their job. Therefore, it prevents the body from feeling the “high” associated with marijuana. However, experts claim that there is not enough evidence yet to prove that CBD is as dangerous as THC.
Some experts claim that there is still insufficient evidence to show that delta-9 THC and CBD are harmful. They argue that the lack of negative side effects so far proves that these substances can be safely used by adults. However, it must be noted that even with the new research results, there are still some people who are concerned about the impact of these drugs on the body. These people argue that it may lead to the development of schizophrenia or other mental disorders. Although these statements remain unproven, there are still those who are saying that there are some risks to the use of cannabis.
These are only some of the pros and cons of cannabis-infused drinks. It has been proven that the intake of this substance can lead to a more relaxed state of mind and can reduce the possibility of hallucinations and other related disorders. But then again, it must also be considered that these are only some of the pros and cons of cannabis-infused drinks.
